Retrofitting an existing plant can provide a cost-effective way to meet incremental demand for hydrogen


Refiners will consume more hydrogen to produce cleaner and lighter fuels, which are mandated by current and possible future environmental regulations. How will this consistent demand for extra hydrogen be met? There are several potential solutions. It can be outsourced from over-the-fence suppliers. New hydrogen plants can be built onsite, but this option will involve substantial expenses.
