Although dual-point temperature inferential control can maintain stable distillation column operation, steady-state deviations often exist in product qualities in the face of nonstationary disturbances in feed flowrates and/or compositions. This article introduces an effective compensation mechanism that can considerably boost performance of the dual-point temperature inferential control of various distillation columns.
