Solid-front test gauge

WIKA Instrument Corp.’s 332.34 direct-drive test gauge for the chemical, petrochemical and refining industries offers accuracy for rough service conditions that include severe shock and vibration. It is reported to be suitable for corrosive environments and gaseous or liquid media that will not obstruct the pressure system. Special other features include excellent load-cycle stability and shock resistance; a movement-less direct-drive Bourdon tube; and positive pressure ranges to 10,000 psi. Bulletin.

Information integrity management for oil and gas industry owner operators

AVEVA has published a comprehensive operations integrity management (OIM) strategy for owner operators in the oil and gas industry. Exploring critical business areas for project and asset performance, the business strategy paper seeks to identify how owner operators can reduce operational cost and risk through an optimized information management strategy.

The OIM strategy allows owner operators to control the quality and accessibility of critical project and operational information, increasing productivity and profitability while reducing operational risk. The new OIM paper focuses on business areas identified as critical to success for owner operators. For the project performance domain, focus is provided on improving project controls, and the commissioning and handover process. In the operations phase where asset performance is key, focus is provided on improving operation readiness, in-plant engineering, operations and maintenance, and HSE and regulatory compliance. Protection from toxic fumes, vapors, gases and particulates

AirClean Systems offers a small brochure on its operator-protection products. Its ductless hoods, workstations and enclosures reportedly meet and exceed relevant OSHA and ANSI Z9.5 standards. Products include the AC600 series ductless chemical workstation, ductless polypropylene fume hoods, polypropylene free-standing enclosures, the Independence ductless fume hood, the PowerSafe Type B enclosures, and the PowderSafe bulk-handling enclosure.

The Independence ductless fume hood incorporates new state-of-the-art technology for filtration, monitoring and detection. It is said to be the first ductless hood to utilize a PID gas analyzer, reporting real-time concentration levels in ppm. Detection within multiple Silconazyne filtration cell zones in conjunction with exhaust and room air monitoring provides a comprehensive application-exposure assessment for laboratory personnel. The operating system, written exclusively for Independence, is said to be an industry first in ductless fume-hood technology.

Reliable gravity-flow sifters

Great Western Manufacturing’s QA Tru-Balance gravity-flow sifters are said to provide the latest innovations in sanitary sifters for precision grading, fines removal and product quality-control sifting. The sifter series has a wide range of capacities. Multiple models use from three to nine sieves and are adaptable to a wide range of products, capacities, number of separations and screen sizes. The series flow-sieve arrangement provides large screen areas in a compact floor area. It is also easily customized to suit installation requirements.

QA Tru-Balance gravity-flow sifters can be opened, and the sieves can be completely removed, maintained and reassembled in minutes, all without special tools. The stainless-steel sieve and product contact zone construction allows cleaning to be accomplished with dry brushing, air cleaning, water washdown or steam cleaning. Literature.

Harsh media require isolated pressure instrumentation

Ashcroft pressure instruments can be configured with media isolators specifically engineered for harsh or corrosive process liquids and gases. Whether the measuring device is a dial gauge, switch, digital gauge or transmitter, there is an Ashcroft diaphragm seal or other isolation device that can be mated for complete media protection.

The company’s seals are available in various sizes; wetted materials and configurations, including capsule type, welded or bonded; and clamped designs with threaded, flanged and flushing connections. Preassembled, filled and ready for installation, these isolated instruments are said to provide the right combination of measurement performance and media protection in any demanding severe-service application.
