The Cross-State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR) is at the center of the regulatory debate in the US. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rule replaces the 2005 Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR), tightening caps on sulfur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxides. Regardless of the Appeals Court stay in early January, equipment reliability is now more important with regard to efficient utilization of existing pollution control technologies.
