Reliance Industries (RIL) awarded Technip a contract for technology licensing, supply of
basic engineering package and an engineering and procurement
services for a refinery off-gas cracker (ROGC)
This contract is part of the expansion project being executed at RILs
world-scale Jamnagar refining and petrochemical complex in Gujarat, on
the West coast of India.
The ROGC plant will be among the largest ethylene crackers
in the world and will be integrated to RILs Jamnagar refinery complex, using refinery off-gas as feedstock.
The products from that plant will be utilized as feedstock for the new downstream petrochemical plants.
The ROGC plant will utilize Technips ethylene technology, including its
proprietary SMK furnace technology, the company said.
Technip is one of the largest experienced contractor
on licensing, designing and implementing grassroot
mega-crackers for ethylene production, said Nello
