An aromatics complex is a combination of processing units that can be used to convert petroleum naphtha and pyrolysis gasoline (pygas) into the basic petrochemical intermediates: benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX). Accordingly, an aromatics complex has great versatility and can be configured in many different ways, depending on desired products, available feedstocks and investment capital.1
