Reliance taps Jacobs to build West India MEG plant

Jacobs was awarded the engineering and procurement assistance services contract for the construction of a mono ethylene glycol (MEG) plant in Gujarat on India's west coast. The new MEG plant is part of Reliance's massive expansion project for its refining and petrochemical facilities.

Reliance Industries on Tuesday awarded Jacobs Engineering Group with an engineering and procurement assistance services contract for the construction of a mono ethylene glycol (MEG) plant at the Jamnagar refining and petrochemical complex in Gujarat, India.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

“We appreciate Reliance’s confidence in us for this significant portion of its petrochemical expansion project at the Jamnagar complex," said Jacobs vice president Allyn Taylor.

"The assignment further advances our long term relationship with Reliance and our presence in India. We are committed to delivering a high level of service and value on this project."
