SNC-Lavalin was awarded a general engineering services contract by Khafji Joint Operations (KJO), a joint venture between Aramco Gulf Operations Co. (AGOC) and the Kuwait Gulf Oil Co. (KGOC), officials confirmed on Tuesday.

The five-year contract will see SNC-Lavalin carry out a range of front-end studies, perform preliminary and detailed engineering, and provide procurement and construction management support for onshore and offshore hydrocarbon and industrial projects.

The contract will be carried out from SNC-Lavalin’s office in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and at the company’s office in London.

“We’re very pleased to secure this contract, which further extends our hydrocarbon footprint with Aramco and provides a first opportunity to work with the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company,” said Ric Sorbo, senior vice president and general manager for the SNC-Lavalin Group.

“Our track record in the offshore sector was a key reason for this success."
