Traditionally, the various production management and asset management systems in the hydrocarbon processing industry (HPI) and other heavy industries resided in silos with separate management, architecture and technologies. Asset performance management (APM) involves collaboration among production and maintenance groups to improve execution with higher productivity, reduced risk and improved return on assets (ROA).
