Singapore LNG said its LNG terminal has received its first commercial cargo and has started commercial operations.

The terminal will enable Singapore to access competitively priced gas globally, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Energy Market Authority (EMA) and Singapore LNG said in a joint statement.

Singapore's LNG terminal will have an initial throughput capacity of 3.5 MMtpa with two tanks, and will be expanded to 6 MMtpa by the end of 2013 and 9 MMtpa at a later stage.

"We look forward to serving our customers and the nation in time to come as Singapore grows to become a gas hub for the region," said Neil McGregor, CEO of Singapore LNG.

Singapore LNG noted that Samsung C&T had been a "wonderful partner" on the project.

"Not only were we able to complete this mega-infrastructure on time to start operations as planned, we did it while maintaining a world-class safety record, having achieved some 14 million man-hours of work on site without any lost-time injury," said McGregor.

The initial LNG cargo was delivered by BG Group, which was awarded an LNG importer's license to import and sell up to 3 MMtpa of LNG. So far, BG has sold about 2.7 MMtpa of LNG.

Eventhough the over cost of 3.54 USD/MMBTU of GN output for transporting and regasifying LNG to NG. Such strategic advantage to have natural gas eventhoug it is not locally produced pays the extra cost; overall taking the shale gas mode fuel low prices advantage.
Evaporation LNG heat transfer design equipment is an intereesting engineering information that I would like to know from SLNG Co.
Congratulations for LNG project to Singapure Co.
