KBR wins turnaround work for US Gulf pygas plant

KBR will conduct services as the general contractor to perform regulatory maintenance, mechanical fixed equipment, piping systems, electrical and instrumentation services for the pygas unit, as well as all aspects of event management, project controls and subcontractor management.

KBR was awarded a contract by a leading chemical company on the US Gulf Coast to provide turnaround services for its pyrolysis gasoline (pygas) unit, the company said on Wednesday.

KBR will conduct services as the general contractor to perform regulatory maintenance, mechanical fixed equipment, piping systems, electrical and instrumentation services for the pygas unit, as well as all aspects of event management, project controls and subcontractor management.

Turnaround execution is expected to increase the operating unit efficiency.

“KBR has the know-how and resources necessary to deliver our services safely, on time and within budget,” said Ivor Harrington, president of KBR's services business.

“We are proud to be selected to execute this important turnaround and build upon our consistent track record of success in the Gulf Coast petrochemical market," he added.

As my proficiency in HSES Management was majorly attained in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, and Gas to Liquid (GTL), Heavy Industry, my proficiency as HSES Manager was further enhanced on Mega Earthworks and Civil Construction.

I am proficient with regards to the development of all aspects of HSES SP/SD Management, including Process Risk Management and Loss Control Management which also encompass Emergency-, Disaster & Restoration Management; Hazop / Hazan / Hazid / Executive Problem Solving/Prioritization and Decision Making; Failure Mode and Effect; Tripod Beta Accident/Incident Investigation; S.A.F.E.; Life Criticals; Incident and Injury Free Principals. I am also proficient in, and have a hands-on practical experience of all types of Risk Management assessment and modelling pertaining to Fire, Explosion and Gas Cloud formation and the practical handling thereof which also includes Fire Risk assessment and modelling for safe installations pertaining to Oil & Gas / Petrochemical plants, High Pressure and mega size petroleum storage tanks, pump stations and All sizes pipeline facilities, etc.

I have managed personnel of multy cultural & diverse nationalities, creeds, religious believes and sub-cultures in the Middle East, African Countries, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan/Russians, Mozambique’s, South Africans itself which enhanced my proficiency pertaining to effective management of personnel.

Teamwork and working individually, is equally important, and I am proficient to manage both job roles effectively and successfully. I also gained excellent experience and have a good understanding of most international management cultures, and International Legislation, standards and by-laws.

As HSES Manager at various Government / Client, PMC and EPCM Projects I successfully managed contractors and sub-contractors in a team effort to prevent and minimize the severity of incidents and accidents.
