Both public and private refiners are planning or have already commenced major expansion and upgrade projects, with several working to develop new grassroots facilities.

Hydrocarbon Processing will host its fourth annual International Refining and Petrochemical Conference (IRPC) in New Delhi, India, from July 9–11. This nation is one of several developing nations driving new demand for energy, transportation fuels and petrochemical-based products. New construction and expansion/modernization projects will aide in India’s drive to become energy independent by 2030.

Even though there is so much information on the planned status of Cuddalore Refinery Project, the reality at ground level is not giving any positive hopes. I have been closely monitoring the progress through my friends living in Cuddalore and other industry sources for more than a decade. There seems to be several unknown factors delaying the execution of the project in time. I wish the project to be commissioned soon as the area around Cuddalore depends on its success to revitalise the growth in all spheres.

The project of Nagarjuna Oil has been stopped / on hold since a couple of years. They and their utilities company SEW Infrastructure are not honouring supplier commitments and orders they have placed.
