Evaluate surfactants as antifoam substitutes in amine systems
The handling capacity of gas sweetening plants using amine solutions is greatly affected by foaming problems. To mitigate foaming problems, antifoam is injected into the amine recirculating system at Oil and Natural Gas Corp.'s Uran refinery in India.
Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) operates an oil and natural
gas processing complex at Uran in Maharashtra, India. Crude oil and associated gas
produced from ONGCs western offshore fields are
transported to onshore facilities at the Uran plant through
subsea pipelines for processing. The crude oil is further
processed, and the stabilized crude is sent to refineries via
pipeline and oil tanker.
