NEW YORK -- Walking around the Chem Show exhibition
floor affords a visitor the opportunity to speak with many
interesting and engaging people. For those of you out there in
cyber-land who were unable to join us here in New York City,
Ive compiled some product data and photographic evidence
of what you missed.
I had no trouble locating the team from United Electric Controls, as their bright
yellow shirts made them stand out from the crowd. Their top
talking point was the news that their One Series safety
transmitter has been introduced. According to Uniteds
marketing manager, the product is the first SIL 2-certified
transmitter designed solely for safety system applications.
Its available in versions that monitor temperature and
pressure, and it was designed to minimize nuisance trips, thus
providing greater safety and prodcutiveity.
A couple of aisles over, I met with representatives
from Busch. They informed me that the
company makes vacuum pumps that are used in a range of
applications. In fact, the first Busch vacuum pump was
developed especially for vacuum packaging. The companys
products are produced for plastics manufacturing and
processing, as well as chemical and pharmaceutical
On my way back to Hydrocarbon Processings booth, I
stopped by to say hello to our neighbors from A-T Controls. Within their impressive booth,
I learned all about bleed valves and metal seat ball valves.
The TRIAC "M" Series floating metal seat ball valve was a
particularly interesting point of conversation. The
valves split body fire safe design is for applications
that soft seats can't touch. It has a Stellite inlay and 316
with Tungsten carbide coating and Class V shutoff.
Closing out my show wanderings, I met with two
companies that fall under the Emerson
umbrella. The fellows at Micro Motion
were still excited about the recent release of their compact
density meter. Meanwhile, over at the Enardo booth, I learned a little bit more
about their business. Basically, Enardo develops and
manufactures vapor control equipment used anywhere liquids and
gases are processed or stored. The products include detonation
and flame arrestors, low pressure venting devices, emergency
vents and gauge hatches.
Photos of my booth visits are below, and thanks for
