Foster Wheeler, Tecnimont form North America chemicals alliance

02.18.2014  |  HP News

Foster Wheeler is combining its role as a FEED and EPC contractor with Tecnimont’s know-how in technology-driven sectors, including olefins, polyolefins and fertilizers.

Keywords:

Foster Wheeler has signed a collaboration agreement with the US subsidiary of Italy's Maire Tecnimont for front-end engineering (FEED) design, detailed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of petrochemicals, chemicals and fertilizer facilities in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Foster Wheeler and Tecnimont say they will collaborate in pursuing specific opportunities for new plants and plant revamps.

This collaboration aims to deliver clients significant added value, combining the world-class skills of both companies: Foster Wheeler with its global chemicals project history and reputation as a FEED and EPC contractor in North America, and Tecnimont’s track record in technology-driven chemicals sectors, including olefins and fertilizers and, in particular, polyolefins (polyethylene and polypropylene).

“Delivering growth in the North American gas monetization market is a key strategic objective of Foster Wheeler,” said Roberto Penno, CEO of Foster Wheeler global engineering and construction (E&C) business.

“We have already achieved a number of key wins in this sector, and this outstanding combination of the technical and project delivery skills of Foster Wheeler and Tecnimont is designed to position us strongly in key growth sectors in this market.”

a strong-strong combination, benefit for two parties, a win-win situation, but isn't a monopoly to others?

Have you published any articles on EPC contractors' performance. I also refer to grading of EPCs that are frequently published that do not agree with the grades. Anyway any papers published by an EPC contractor I would like very much get a copy. Thank you.
