Suncor Energy reported an employee fatality at its oil sands
site in Fort McMurray, Alberta, over the weekend.
Suncor emergency service personnel responded at approximately
11:30 a.m. on Sunday when an employee was severely injured
while working. The employee was immediately transported to
the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre, where he was

Reports said the deceased was an electrician working in an
area containing electrical panels when he collapsed.
Suncor has mining, upgrading, and steam-assisted gravity
draining operations in the region.
