Toyo Engineering wins Malaysia ethylene work
The steam cracker complex is part of Petronas' RAPID project in Pengerang, Johor. The contract has been awarded on a lump sum turn-key basis and is scheduled for completion by mid-2019.

and petrochemicals project
by Malaysia's Petronas in
The contract was awarded on a lump sum turn-key basis and is
scheduled for completion by mid-2019.
The scope of the deal includes engineering, procurement of
equipment and materials, construction
and commissioning. Facilities
include a new ethylene
plant, pryolysis gasoline unit, a butadiene extraction plant,
a benzene separation plant, a MTBE production unit and
related utilities and offsite facilities
The contract amount is approximately 240 billion yen,
according to Toyo officials.
The overall RAPID project
will consist of a 300,000
complex with a
combined capacity of producting 7.7 million tpy of various
grades of products, including differentiated and specialty
chemicals products such as synthetic rubbers and high-grade
Toyo says it has a proven track record of completing more
than 30 projects for Petronas since 1983, when the first gas
processing facility project
Toyo notes that it has built more than 40 green-field
ethylene plants worldwide.
