ITT announced an agreement with Shell Global Solutions in which ITT’s Goulds Pumps brand will provide American Petroleum Institute (API) centrifugal pumps to support Shell operations worldwide. The deal is for five years with an option for an additional five years. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Flowserve Corp. and Saudi Arabia’s S&A Abahsain Co. have formally inaugurated a new valve manufacturing plant and training center in the Dammam Second Industrial City. The facility is operated by Flowserve Abahsain Flow Control Co.a joint venture of Flowserve and S&A Abahsain.

Capstone Turbine Corp. said Thursday that it received a follow-on order for 31 C65 microturbines from a large oil and gas producer in the Eagle Ford shale play already operating a fleet of 71 C65 units. The latest order for 31 low-emission C65 microturbines brings the customer's total to 102 units.

Praxair has agreed to acquire Houston-based Texas Welders Supply Co. (TWSCO), the companies confirmed on Friday, noting that the deal should close by December 31. TWSCO, a long-time distributor of Praxair, is the largest independent gas and welding products distributor in the greater Houston area.

Siemens Energy, along with state and local public officials, celebrated the official grand opening of the new 450,000-square-foot gas turbine production plant adjacent to its existing steam turbine-henerator manufacturing plant in Charlotte, North Carolina. When fully operational in spring 2012, the new gas turbine factory will complete Siemens' Charlotte energy hub.

Tyco Valves & Controls, a unit of Tyco Flow Control, has opened a new service facility for valve maintenance and repair in Port Arthur, Texas, offering easier access for oil and gas companies in the Gulf of Mexico region. Based in Houston, the company said it designs and establishes lubrication programs through a three-step program.

Dow Chemical has awarded Wood Group GTS with a contract worth up to $3.5 million to provide Advanced Parts Manufacture (APM) hot gas path components for their ABB GT11D5 gas turbine located at Dow’s Plaquemine chemical plant in Louisiana.
