Argentinas second liquefied natural gas (LNG) import facility, a joint development between YPF S.A., ENARSA and Excelerate Energy, GNL Escobar (GNLE), began receiving cargoes on May 24, 2011, and has already offloaded four cargoes of LNG, using ship-to-ship transfers. Ongoing operations and supply logistics of the facility are presently coordinated jointly between the three companies.
Located on the Paraná River about 30 miles outside Buenos Aires City, GNLE uses Excelerate Energys GasPort design. It has a baseload throughput capacity of 500 million cfd, with peak throughput capacity at 600 million cfd, and has direct access to the Buenos Aires region and Argentinas natural gas grid.
Procesadora Industrial Río Seco S.A., Cia. De Minas Buenaventura, a wholly owned chemical subsidiary, and Haldor Topsøe have a contract for supply of a wet gas sulfuric acid (WSA) plant for producig sulfuric acid at a new industrial operation in Peru. The WSA plant is a multi-flexible unit that will both clean the H2S offgases from a MnSO4 leaching process and burn elemental sulfur to make industrial-grade sulfuric acid.
Haldor Topsøe will supply all the basic and detailed engineering and equipment and materials required for the inside battery limits. This means that the project schedule can be greatly reduced as procurement can begin before the plants basic and detailed engineering is finished. The engineering is already underway and the first design package has been supplied to Rio Seco.
Apart from engineering, equipment and materials, Haldor Topsøes scope of supply also includes license, catalysts and supervision services during construction, commissioning and startup. Plant startup is scheduled in 2012.
A subsidiary of Foster Wheeler AGs Global Engineering and Construction Group has a process design and front-end engineering and design (FEED) services contract for PDVSAs new Batalla Santa Ines Refinery Phase I Hydroskimming section to be built in Barinas, Venezuela. Foster Wheelers scope of work includes the preparation of the basic engineering design package, FEED and early procurement assistance for the crude distillation unit, the naphtha hydrotreater, the continuous catalytic reformer, and the utilities and offsite facilities. The FEED is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2011. HP
