Great progress has been made in China’s refining industry in recent years. Refining capacity and oil production have increased substantially, but challenges still remain. Obstacles facing China’s hydrocarbon processing industry include a tight petroleum supply, stringent product specifications, energy conservation trends, and government directed pollution reduction efforts.
