BABBITT STEAM SPECIALTY CO. judy@babbittsteam.com,800 Mt. Pleasant Street New Bedford, MA 02745 United States Judith Mulrooney Phone: 508-995-9534 Phone: 800-727-4323 Fax: 508-995-2701 sprocket@babbittsteam.com www.babbittsteam.com | Babbitt Steam Specialty Company has manufactured chainwheels to operate valves in hard-to-reach locations for over a century. The Babbitt Adjustable Chainwheels with Chain Guides operate valves, in high, normally out-of-reach locations easily and economically. Chainwheels attach to the hand wheel of any size valve, ranging from 2 to 36 inches in diameter, allowing valves to be opened and closed from the floor.
Each configuration of our product was developed as a better way to meet a specific customer’s need. The Babbitt Safety Wheel was designed in response to the increased need for improved plant safety. The Babbitt Safety Wheel dramatically reduces the potential hazard of a falling valve hand wheel to which a Babbitt Safety Wheel is attached. Safety Cap Kits are available for retrofit applications. Chainwheels are available in a solid hub design for direct attachment to valve hand wheel stem. All chainwheels except solid hubs are furnished complete with standard zinc plated carbon steel or 316 stainless steel attachment sets. Hammer-Blow units to operate high pressure valves are provided in ductile iron. Babbitt recommends use of hot dipped galvanized, 304 stainless steel or spark resistant brass lock-link chain and Babbitt Master links.
