Welcome to our first ever AFPM Summit: Excellence in Plant Performance! The Summit combines the best parts of the Reliability and Maintenance, Cat Cracker Seminar, and Operations and Process Technology conferences into one new, dynamic event. Integrating these events reflects the way our industries are increasingly working together across disciplines to bolster the safety, efficiency, and overall performance of our operations. The new Summit offers a fresh format, delivering even more insightful content, with greater knowledge sharing across functions and an interactive, high-tech experience. While we will not be able to greet you in person this year due to COVID-19, I’m glad we are still coming together as a community in our continuing quest to improve our operations.
The inaugural Summit features more than 50 sessions, with new interactive opportunities such as live in-session polling, and close to double that many speakers over the next three days. We will cover a broad range of topics, such as global oil demand in a post-COVID world, diversity and inclusion within our workforce, how data science tools can help your technical communications, and more. In addition to these sessions, you will have access to the virtual exhibition hall featuring 60 exhibitors and a networking lounge with opportunities to connect both with speakers and fellow participants.
Despite the challenges we are facing, I am optimistic for the future. As an industry, we have persevered through major challenges before and emerged stronger on the other side. I have every confidence that we will once again live up to our legacy of strength, innovation, and agility in the face of great challenges.
