QNP awards Krupp Uhde ammonium nitrate contract The Queensland Nitrates Pty. Limited (QNP) – the main shareholders of which are Dyno Nobel Asia Pacific Limited and Wesfarmers CSBP Limited in North Sydney – has awarded Shedden Unde Pty Limited, Melbourne – the Australian affiliate of Krupp-Uhde – a contract for constructing an ammonium nitrate complex. The new 160-Mtpy complex will be erected in Moura/ Queensland on the Northwest Coast of Australia. It will come onstream in 2000. The complex will also include a 230-tpd ammonia plant; a 405-tpd nitric acid plant; and a 515-tpd ammonium nitrate plant. The subcontractors: Krupp Uhde Germany will supply basic
