With so much attention focused on utilizing energy efficiency technologies to reduce CO2 emissions, "the timing is right to begin promoting insulation as a technology," says William Piton, executive vice president of the National Insulation Association (NIA). Plant managers frequently specify costly and untested energy efficiency methods without giving any consideration to insulation. The NIA has introduced a program designed to promote insulation as a "solution" technology. The program emphasizes the energy and environmental answers offered by insulation for a wide audience of specifiers, energy managers, plant operators, facility managers, government agencies and others.
