The following trends in worldwide natural gas usage and development are highlights from a recent market analysis by SRI International. Overall U.S. consumption for natural gas is expected to increase by almost 3%/yr from 1997 to 2005. This assumes normal weather, strong economic growth and a competitive price for natural gas. Consumption will increase in all sectors, but particularly in the residential and industrial sectors.
