ABB awarded polyTHF plant by BASF ABB has been awarded a lump-sum turnkey contract by BASF for a plant producing the plastic precursor polytetrahydrofuran (polyTHF). The new polyTHF plant, including storage facilities, will be built at BASF's site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The project will be implemented on an optimized time schedule, and production startup is planned for early 2002. ABB Lummus Global's office in Wiesbaden, Germany, will be responsible for detailed engineering, procurement of equipment and material and construction and precommissioning.
