Consider energy-conserving methods to improve the SM process I am writing about the article "Consider energy-conserving methods to improve the SM process" as published in the March 2000 issue of Hydrocarbon Processing, authored by M. S. Choi, S. Lee and I. S. Cho. Although the results reported by the authors appear to be very good, they make several arguments with which I must take issue. Point 1. The authors purport to present a methodology whereby energy recovery is achieved "without a major revision to the existing heat-exchanger network," which they imply is superior to the standard approach used in Pinch Analysis.
