Conoco starts cogen unit
Conoco Energy Solutions, a division of Conoco, has
started operation of the SRW Cogeneration Ltd. Partnership
facility. The 420-MW natural gas-fired plant is located at
DuPont's Sabine River Works, Orange County, Texas. Conoco was
construction project manager and Bechtel Energy Corp. was the
plant engineering and construction contractor.
The cogeneration facility produces steam and power
for DuPont's Sabine River Works. Entergy's transmission
facility will receive any surplus electricity and it will be
marketed throughout the Southeast Reliability Council. Conoco
is supplying natural gas to the cogen
