An Arkansas refinery operates two elevated flares - one for low-pressure service and another for high-pressure service. Through combustion, the flares safely dispose of waste gas (flare gas). In refinery operations, flammable waste gases are vented from processing units during process upsets and normal operation. These waste gases are collected in piping headers and delivered to a flare system for safe disposal.
