Axens has several contracts to expand the Ecopetrol Cartagena, Colombia refinery. The project is to increase refinery capacity from 75,000 bpsd to 140,000 bpsd, while increasing residue conversion capacity. Axens is supplying technologies for grassroots units that include a CCR reformer with its associated pretreatment; a cracked naphtha desulfurization unit; distillate hydrotreating facilities; a thermal cracker in combination with the existing Axens visbreaker to increase atmospheric residue conversion; sulfur recovery facilities that consist of a Claus and Clauspol tail gas treatment units in association with P
