Comments? Write: editorial@HydrocarbonProcessing.com Mexico is ranked ninth in crude oil proven reserves and seventh in crude oil production. It is a major non-OPEC oil producer, and most of its oil exports (over 80%) are traded with the US. Since the US is a major trading partner, Mexico's economy is tightly tied to this economy. Mexico exports crude oil, as well as manufactured goods and machinery to the US. Mexico's 2002 real gross domestic product (GDP) grew a modest 0.9% as global demand for key exports diminished.
