Design company acquisition Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Süd-Chemie AG, Munich, Germany, are jointly acquiring Scientific Design Co. Inc., Little Ferry, New Jersey, from Linde AG. The company will remain an independent entity and continue to license its processes, provide engineering services and sell catalysts to clients worldwide. A joint venture between the purchasing entities will manage the company. Scientific Design's primary business is catalysts and process technology for use in major chemicals production such as ethylene oxide and maleic anhydride. The purchase is claimed
