Estech GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture between Celanese AG, Kronberg, Germany, and Hatco Corp., Fords, New Jersey, started a synthetic ester plant in Oberhausen, Germany. The 7,000-metric-ton plant, which was designed, planned and constructed in 18 months, will produce specialty esters for high-quality synthetic lubricants and other high-performance applications. Financial details were not disclosed. Hellenic Petroleum (HELPE) commissioned its tert- amylmethyl- ether (TAME) plant located at its Aspropyrgos, Greece, refinery. The facility can produce ether and sweeten light-light cat naphtha (LLCN) stream, making it suitable for low-sulfur gasoline specifications. The
