Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (HPCL) is licensing UOP's CCR Platforming technology for its Mumbai and Vishakapatnam (Vizag) refineries to produce high-octane reformate, an ultra-clean gasoline blending component. The basic engineering work for the 13,700-bpsd unit at Mumbai was completed earlier this year, while the basic design for the 19,500-bpsd Vizag unit is ongoing. Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL) is officially in the petrochemical field with the commissioning of a linear alkylbenzene (LAB) complex at its refinery in Baroda, Gujarat, India.
