Chrysler Group is using B5 – a 5% blend of biodiesel – for the first tank of fuel in its new Jeep Liberty sport utility vehicle. Biodiesel is an alternative fuel that can be made from fat or vegetable oil. It can be used in its pure form (B100) or blended with petroleum diesel. In the US, about 300 retail filling stations make various biodiesel blends publicly available, and more than 1,000 petroleum distributors carry it. The National Petrochemical & Refiners Association recently presented a Cat Cracker Seminar and Exhibition.
