Societé Nationale de Raffinage de Pétrole (NAFTEC Spa) is using GTC's proprietary process technologies, CrystPXsm, GT-BTX, GT-IsomPXsm. The agreement is for a major rehabilitation project at NAFTEC's existing plant and new facilities in Skikda, Algeria. Major products will be exported. NAFTEC is in charge of the refining activity in Algeria. It is 100% owned by the petrochemical state company, Sonatrach.
The agreement is for proprietary technologies, basic engineering design and various equipment and catalyst requirements. The expansion will produce high-purity benzene, toluene, and paraxylene from naphtha. The project is scheduled for startup in 2008.
