For US exporters, Germany is the largest single market in the 25-country European Union (EU), with chemicals export sales of $3.3 billion in 2003. These exports represented 13% of the $26.5 billion in US manufactured merchandise exported to Germany in 2003. The US Chamber of Commerce and the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) offer a free service that gives US exporters, including chemical manufacturers, access to DIN product standards. Called DIN INFO-POINT, the tool's aim is to improve opportunities to sell in Germany and the EU.
