Valero's Bill Greehey refinery achieves historic safety milestone. The plant, located in Corpus Christi, Texas, has become the first refinery to have all of its primary contractors certified with OSHA's highest safety honor. Each of the seven firms underwent an extensive OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) audit, and each completed the process with no contingency items – a significant accomplishment, since many candidates are required to rectify certain issues before officially being named a VPP Star Site.
