  GE Energy has a licensing agreement with CJSC Nizhnekamsk refinery to provide gasification technology for a new oil refining and petrochemical complex in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. GE's gasification technology was selected to produce syngas from petroleum coke at a cogeneration plant that is part of the complex. The facility is being designed to process 7 million tpy of crude oil, and it will include an oil refinery, a deep conversion plant and a petrochemical plant. Commercial operation is targeted for the end of 2010. The scope of GE's gasification agreement includes preparation of a process design package, field services and the supply of proprietary equipmen
