Technip has a services contract with BP to expand production capacity of a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant located in Geel, Belgium. The agreement, which covers the engineering, procurement and construction management of the development, will be executed by a team integrated with the client. Technip's operations and engineering center in Rome, Italy, will be in charge of contract execution, which falls within the framework of the ongoing PTA alliance between BP and Technip. The Geel plant capacity will be increased by more than 350,000 tpy, making the total PTA production capacity 1.4 million tpy.
