PETRÓLEO BRASILEIRO S.A. brought the Cidade do Rio de Janeiro floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) online. The FPSO is located in the Espadarte field in the Campos Basin. The vessel-platform will be capable of lifting up to 100,000 bpd of oil and 2.5 million m3/d of gas. Installed at a water depth of 1,350 m, the new platform can store 1.6 million bbl of oil. The FPSO is 320-m long × 54-m wide × 30-m high, corresponding to a 10-story building. The new platform is expected to reach its full production capacity during 2007.
