  Aker Kvaerner has a contract with Reliance Petroleum Ltd. to provide project management, procurement and engineering services for a new polypropylene plant being built in a special economic zone in Jamnagar, India. The plant will take propylene feed from a newly developed grassroots refinery complex. The expansion includes two new polypropylene lines, each with a nameplate capacity of 450,000 tpy. The project is scheduled for completion and startup in 2008.    BASF is increasing its annual production capacity for the chemical intermediate propionic acid at its sites in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Nanjing, China, by 30,000 metric tons and 9,000 metric tons, respectively.
