  The first commercial Frame 5-2E gas turbine manufactured by GE Oil & Gas was shipped recently for installation at Yara Sluiskil B.V.'s fertilizer plant in The Netherlands. The new 30-megawatt class, two-shaft machine combines heavy-duty gas turbine technology with proven design concepts to achieve 36% efficiency in mechanical drive operation and 35% in generator drive operation. It also limits NOx emissions to 18 ppm and reduces CO2 emissions by 20,000 tpy. Operating in a cogeneration mode, the gas turbine will produce 30 megawatts of power and 50 t/h of steam to be used for production processes.
