The recently released Environmental Protection Agency's 2008 Sector Performance Report analyzes the performance of 12 sectors of the US economy—including oil and gas and chemicals manufacturing—during the 1996-2005 period. Along with other statistical information, the report presents sector-specific data for chemicals categorized under EPA's Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) program. Data are provided for air emissions of all TRI substances, as well as for those substances categorized as hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) within the TRI program.
