Samsung Engineering has a $2.73 billion contract from Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Co. for utilities and offsite work on the Ruwais refinery expansion project (RRE). Samsung's work is set for mechanical completion by April 2013 and is expected to supply utilities into the complex to help produce an additional 400,000 barrels of oil. Samsung Engineering will perform engineering, procurement and construction on a lump-sum turnkey basis. The investment for the RRE project exceeds $10 billion, and is to be executed mainly by Korean contractors, including SK E&C and GS E&C.
