AFRICA Rovuma LNG, a JV comprised of ExxonMobil, Eni and China National Petroleum Corp., will likely delay its final investment decision (FID) on the group’s $30-B Mozambique LNG project. The JV was planning to take FID in the 1H 2020; however, the global coronavirus pandemic has delayed financing that is crucial to the project moving forward. Some analysts believe that FID will not be made in 2020. At the time of this publication, none of the project’s partners have announced an updated FID timeline.
