Fuels of the future discussed at IRPC Americas

For eleven years, Hydrocarbon Processing's International Refining and Petrochemical Conference (IRPC) has been the leading downstream technology event.  For 2019, IRPC Americas will be held in Houston, Texas on September 25-26.

The two-day conference and exhibition will provide a high-level technical forum in which key players in the petrochemical and refinery sector will meet to share knowledge and learn about best practices and the latest industry advances.

A session during the Clean Fuels/Fuels of the Future track will focus on K-SAAT: A breakthrough solid acid alkylation technology, presented by Anubhav Kapil, Technical Professional Advisor at KBR Technology.

K-SAAT is KBR’s revolutionary technology to produce alkylate, which is an ultra-clean gasoline blendstock. Unlike traditional refinery alkylation technologies that utilize strong acids, K-SAAT produces alkylates by combining light olefins and isobutane using a solid catalyst that provides yield and operating cost benefits by avoiding complex acid handling and cooling cost.

Other sessions include, Eni Slurry Technology: A game-changer for the refining industry, Technology advances and commercialization of second-generation biofuels – 2G ethanol, Axens and MIP process for clean gasoline and propylene production, Sinopec America.
