Vietnam's Dung Quat refinery to shut for maintenance

Vietnam’s Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Co will shut its Dung Quat oil refinery for maintenance from Aug. 12 through Oct. 1, two sources familiar with the matter said.

The company said last month it planned to delay the maintenance at the 130,000-barrel-per day plant until July 27-Sept. 16 from June 12-Aug. 1 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The foreign contractors will send some engineers to the refinery from late this month to prepare for the maintenance,” one of the sources said.

It will be the fourth time the refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai has undergone major maintenance.
