Last month, I reviewed the Sector Facility Indexing Project (SFIP) from EPA and just scratched the surface of toxic release information on the Internet. More company information is pouring onto the Web every day and this is a humdinger of a site. Think about taking the entire Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) and tying it to a zip-code finder. Merge that with EPA toxic chemical information and health effects of these chemicals. Put all that information into a simple, easy-to-use search engine and put it on the Web. Add features like pollution ranking by zip code, state, county or facility. Then add a sorting feature by health effect and another by pollution vector (air, water and ground).
