New and updated for 1998, Chemcyclopedia from the American Chemical Society (ACS) is a real gem of a Web site (http://pubs3.acs.org:8899/chemcy98/). Like any other encyclopedia, it will not make you an expert, but it will give contacts for commercially available chemicals. The Chemcyclopedia is published annually as a supplement to Chemical & Engineering News. Listings in the print version and on the Web site include available grades and forms, packaging and containers, applications and end uses, and special handling requirements. The 1998 edition has more than 12,000 chemical listings and over 1,100 companies, including many new international companies listed for the first time.
